Tempting Tuesdays ~ Apple Fritter Rings

As we head into October, I'm in the mood for Fall Foods. For me, that consists of anything with apple or pumpkin. I thought it might be a bit early for pumpkins, so today we are going with apples. Get out your deep fryers and make some Apple Fritter Rings.

This recipe is adapted from Graced Simplicity.

Ingredients

1 egg
2/3 cup of milk
1 teaspoon vegetable oil
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
Dash of salt

5 large tart apples

1 1/2 cups of vegetable oil for frying

1/4 cup of sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Directions:

In a bowl, beat 1 egg, 2/3 cup of milk, and 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil.

In a separate bowl, combine 1 cup of flour, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, and a dash of salt.

Stir flour mixture into egg mixture until smooth and thick.

Peel, core, and cut apples into 1/4 to 1/2 inch rings.

Heat your oil to 375 degrees F.
Dip apples into batter and cover throughly.

Carefully place coated rings into hot oil and fry until golden brown.

Drain on paper towels.

Combine 1/4 cup of sugar and 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon.

Dip in or sprinkle your apple rings with mixture.

ENJOY!!!!!!!
